Our school SENCO held our hands through the whole process, coordinating reports and consulting with other SENCOs on what would be most effective. Not everyone has a supportive SENCO but if you do, use them! Also at the draft stage, a very kind school mum friend who had gone through the same thing with her child sat me down and helped me review the recommendations section.
